What should I do if I have an accident?
Here are things you can do to make it easier to settle your claim quickly:

Record the name, address, licence number and insurer of other drivers involved along with the

Try to get names and addresses of witnesses.
Notify the police as soon as possible.
If your vehicle is undriveable and you have comprehensive motor vehicle cover, arrange for it
to be towed to the nearest place of safe storage. Keep the details so that you can advise us
of where your vehicle is located. Alternatively call 1800 229 272 and it can be organised for you.

Will I have to pay my excess?
You need to contribute your excess if you are responsible for the accident or you cannot provide the name, address and registration number of the responsible party. Please always refer to your policy for the relevant excess amount.

Do I need to complete a claim form?
Yes. Please find the Claim Form in Useful Resources.

Do I have to get a quote for the repairs?
Yes. You may have your vehicle repaired at your choice of repairer, however if you require assistance you can utilise one of our recommended repairers. All you need to do is drop off the car on the agreed date and we will take care of the rest so that you have your repaired vehicle back as soon as possible.

What should I do if someone makes a claim against me?
Record the name, address, licence number and insurer of other drivers involved, if possible and the registration numbers of all vehicles involved, if possible.

If the claim is for an accident, try to get names and addresses of witnesses.
Do not make any admissions and do not attempt to settle any claim made against you.

Ring us as soon as possible on 1800 229 272 and advise the Claims Controller what has occurred. We will do all we can to assist you through the claims process.
